Customer key message - Safe Usage Instructions

Updated: 24th August 2020

We are committed to providing a limited, safe service to all our members at this time. Many of the amendments to our operating procedures will represent great improvements to the service you can expect from us. Due to the current situation, now more than ever we value quality over quantity. We hope to be able to expand the range and amount of usage we offer as guidance changes and as it becomes financially viable for us to do so.

With the restarting of our Swim school from 7th September 2020 we have updated the following guidance for safe usage of the facilities, we ask that you continue to remain patient with us as we will be operating in a manner that we are somewhat unaccustomed to. We hope that we can maintain the positives that we adopt (such as improved cleanliness) moving forward into the long term. To help us to deliver a safe, high quality service we ask that you commit to the following guidance when using our facilities;

Gym users

  • Ideally 2 meters will be maintained between all individuals, if unavoidable 1+ meter will be the minimum distance between individuals.

  • Masks and 'fresh' disposable gloves are encouraged however we ask that you do not use non-disposable gloves.

  • We may check your temperature on arrival with a non-contact device and should this be indicative of a symptom of Covid-19 we will ask you not to attend and to follow Government guidance.

  • Lockers, changing areas and showers will not be provided, please come ready to exercise with minimal personal belongings. Please be prepared to leave immediately after your session without a shower. Should you bring any personal belongings we cannot be held responsible for their safety.

  • Please follow the one-way system operating throughout the building at all times.

  • Hand sanitiser has been provided, please use this regularly throughout your session, at the beginning, end and after contact with equipment.

  • Instructors will be on hand to perform robust cleaning throughout and after every session. Anti-bacterial wipes have been provided, we ask that you use these to wipe each machine that you use immediately after use. Please do not bring a 'sweat towel' with you, disposable wipes/paper are acceptable.

  • Strict instructions have been provided for use of the 'free-weights' area, this includes a maximum of 2 people at one time in this area. Please familiarise yourself with the other instructions on attendance and remain thoughtful of other users.

  • There will be a maximum of 12 people in each gym session, we will only permit users who have pre-booked their sessions in advance of attending the centre. Please book early to avoid disappointment up to 7 days in advance.

  • Please arrive punctually for your session and expect a short queue at reception, we will be staggering all sessions to minimise numbers and to shorten your queue time. Access to the centre before the start of the session will not be permitted and we ask that you do not arrive especially early as customers may still be leaving from the previous session.

  • Bookings will be for 45 minutes, a 15 minute window will allow for cleaning and permit time for you to leave the gym prior to the next session starting, we ask that you leave promptly to avoid unnecessary numbers in the centre. You may book a second session each day (in a row if you wish) to allow for those that wish to perform a longer session. Please consider others when booking this second slot as should we become heavily used we will look to change this instruction so more members can benefit. Should you book 2 sessions in a row we may ask you to leave the centre for cleaning before the next session.

  • We will be operating a sanctioning system whereby should a customer book a session and fail to attend they will temporarily forfeit the ability to book in future. We very much hope to avoid using this system. Should you find that you can no longer attend a session, please cancel your session at the earliest possible opportunity.

  • We have taken guidance on air circulation and as such comfort cooling systems will not be operational. Ventilation systems are in place and running optimally. This space may be warmer than expected.
